So much has been going on recently. Finally companies are now taking me seriously when it comes to doing reviews. Convar are sending me some of their brand new ByteSpotter hard drives to check out. Powermat have sent me one of their chargers for the iPhone and RotoLight are sending over their interview kit. Hopefully more companies will start to take me seriously when it comes to good honest reviews.
So how do reviews benefit the manufacturers and customers of these products?
Firstly the manufacturer, or supplier, gets their product out into the wild. With a lot of review blogs and YouTube channels they already have a good following in a particular niche be it Technology or Cooking. This is a great way to get the product in front of potential customers and also generating an interest in the product and company.
From the point of view of the customer, they get to see the product in action. They can also see what has been written about the product, usually from an unbiased point of view. It is all well and good seeing the promotional video from the company that makes the product, but it does not show you everything about the product, especially if it has any flaws. Now if the product does have flaws a reviewer should, and most often does, point this out in the review. This can help both the customer and the company that supplied the product for review.
